Full description

I am the founder, CEO and clinical lead of REACH Equine and Outdoor Therapy. My love for horses started at the age of 8 when I had my first pony. I had a break to study physiotherapy and then returned to riding when my kids were young. It was my kid’s ponies that enabled me to start REACH. I was inspired by my late sister – in -law, Karen, born with
cerebral palsy, who benefitted from horses throughout her life.

I started my career in RDA at Barrow Farm where I quickly realised that being a volunteer wasn’t enough, so I did my coach training and also trained in hippotherapy, otherwise known as Equine Assisted Physiotherapy, in 2013. I have since trained in Equine Facilitated Learning and provide groundwork sessions for people with their emotional well- being and mental health challenges. I am so fortunate to be able to combine my passion for horses and my job as a physiotherapist RDA coach and EFL facilitator. I am passionate about helping people to benefit from the magic of horses. Recently I have seen how other animals and the outdoor environment can be therapeutic and healing as well as a perfect alternative to learning academically and emotionally. It is with this belief that I have set up an animal and outdoor therapy centre up the road to REACH.
